By far the best stay of our trip! After wrestling with Thursday market traffic to find parking, Stephen’s gracious welcome put us totally at ease and calmed our nerves. He is a gem! You will find he is a wealth of information for where to eat and what to see in the area.. The B&B is quite charming. Rooms are large, comfortable, and have modern conveniences. There is a shared guest kitchen with a fridge and coffee/tea service. The continental breakfast was ample with the best bakery items we’ve tasted. The location can’t be beat for exploring the Medieval center of the city. Wonderful stay!

I can't say enough good things about Les Cordeliers. It's a beautiful B&B right in the center of Sarlat, but the thing that makes it really stand out are the hosts, Susan and Steven. They literally went out of their way to make my experience in Sarlat amazing. They were welcoming, attentive, kind, generous, and went above and beyond to make the level of service truly exceptional.

Perfect location, beautiful building, and charming hosts. Very spacious rooms and delightfully decorated. Proprietors Susan and Stephen are very welcoming and made sure we were happy and had great restaurants to go to. They provide an excellent breakfast. Couldn't recommend Les Cordeliers highly enough.

My wife and I stayed at Les Cordeliers for two delicious weeks in April 2026. Week #1 was a program organized and hosted by Stephen and Susan, the hotel owners since 2025. The program lent first-hand experience to people and places in the book series by Martin Walker about Bruno, Chief of Police (title of book #1) in St. Denis, a fictitious small town in the Dordogne. The program was superbly crafted to introduce the 10 participants, all guests at Les Cordeliers, to this beautiful and historic corner of France, with its renowned sites and unique culture. After the Bruno program, we continued at Les Cordeliers for another week with a rental car to further explore and enjoy the Perigord. Awesome location and exceptional service provided by hosts. We were made to feel welcome and totally at home. The facilities were great - bed was super comfortable. In addition we had access to the guest communal kitchen with fridge and tea/coffee provided and an additional guest lounge with a honour based wine bar. Breakfasts were delicious. Lots of suggestions for where to eat and tips for where to buy best local produce at shops and Sarlat market. Steve and Susan were incredible hosts- nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend a stay here!

Nous avons passé 4 jours à deux chez Suzane et Steven. Notre séjour aux Cordeliers a été superbe sous tous les aspects. Le petit-déjeuner est exceptionnel, avec un large choix de bons produits. Suzane est attentive et disponible, toujours de très bons conseils. La chambre était impeccable, avec une décoration soignée et chic. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir. Merci beaucoup !

We stayed in this wonderful hotel this summer at the end of our 3 week vacation. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. They helped us make dinner reservations each night and provided wonderful suggestions for driving tours and out of the way castles and Châteaus that most guide books did not cover. Breakfast was also incredible and the price was an excellent value. We hope to stay again in the future!

Un hotel en una casa antigua con una decoración preciosa!!!!Las piezas gigantes al igual que los baños. Comodísimas!!! El desayuno muy rico y lo mejor es que es atendido por Steve y Susan, sus propietarios!! Steve nos procuraba a diario con la lista de lo que valía la pena visitar cada día en los alrededores, que es muchísimo y todo precioso.

We spent 3 lovely days and nights in Sarlat, staying at Les Cordeliers. Hosted by Susan and Stephen it is a beautiful guest house with 5 rooms and ample public space (a small kitchen with a tea kettle and teas, a comfortable lounge and a sunny breakfast room). The whole house is tastefully decorated and furnished. Breakfast was generous and varied with cheeses, cold meat, pastries, fruit, fresh orange juice and hot beverages. S & S were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Highest recommendation.

We stayed here for three nights. We loved this hotel! Steve and Susan were wonderful, attentive hosts...so helpful with suggestions on restaurants and local attractions. They provided an amazing experience...clean, cool historic rooms with very nice amenities, a great bathroom, linens, etc. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and a great opportunity to visit with the owners and other guests. Les Cordeliers is the perfect home base for your Dordogne vacation!

The Location was absolutely fabulous. The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable. And everything felt quaint and cozy yet luxurious at the same time. The host Steve and Susan were so hospitable! They gave 5 star service and were so kind. If Steve gives you a recommendation be sure to listen! Everything he suggested was fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay.

Hidden gem! Learned from our taxi driver that the couple running the small B&B hotel took it over just a year ago. Makes sense, they were amazing. Every little detail was considered. Thoughtfully decorated, spotlessly clean, nice sheets, super quiet, delicious breakfast, warm croissants, yes chocolate ones too. Owner helped me figure out a driver and suggested restaurants. I ran around the corner to a Carrefour express grocery for wine, Heineken zero and a chocolate bar. Relaxed and sat outside in a shady spot on a cute rooftop patio (picture). They even have a small guest kitchen with a frig and coffee bar. Was great, highly recommend.

This is a lovely hotel in the center of the charming town Sarlat-la-Canéda. My friends and I stayed here in May for several nights. It was our base as we explored the Dordogne. Steve and Susan were gracious hosts. The hotel rooms are large and the continental breakfasts generous. Very importantly, Steve and Susan, in the three months they have lived in Sarlat, have enthusiastically made it their mission to get to know the town, the best sites, excursions, and restaurants. They are knowledgeable and happy to help make arrangements.
